Women in Franchising
We had a wonderful time at the QLD Women in Franchising
networking event last week! Four of us attended from Head Office, as well
as some of our Brisbane bookkeepers, our Fortitude Valley bookkeeper and Gold
Coast bookkeeper; all coming together to meet some wonderful ladies and talk about our amazing bookkeeping services!
The theme of the event was Unleashing the Power of Integrated Multi-Channel Marketing – interesting stuff! It is amazing what we can do with digital marketing
platforms these days. Unfortunately, with the ease of free advertising on social
media comes increasing competition and the threat of becoming invisible online which is why we need to STAND OUT both online and in print.
Our guest speaker offered Q&A time to the audience and one of the most
interesting questions was: is print dead?
The answer? No. But it is evolving; it now needs to be combined with an integrated marketing
strategy in order to be made effective.
Receiving items in the mail is rare these days which makes it
all the more exciting – that’s why print is not dead and never will be. In
addition to delicious canapes and bubbles at the afternoon tea we also received
a small gift – a notebook personalised with our names and pages that
were relevant to us depending on the registration forms we submitted months
For example, as marketing manager my notebook came personalised
with common paper sizes, keyboard shortcuts and best push times for social
media. (Thanks U Integrated
Marketing Solutions!) BUT, as wonderful as these tangible
items are, we cannot
ignore Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc etc. (apparently
Instagram TV is a thing now!)
They must be used together to bring an experience to each customer. We love the idea of "experience” –
particularly in the field of bookkeeping services and franchising where customer experience
Below are some marketing pathways which, when used together,
are an extremely powerful form of advertising for your business (do you have
all of these up and running?):
>Print Media & Direct Mail
>Other offline media
In addition to learning all this super cool stuff about
marketing, we also met lots of inspirational ladies, exchanged stories,
experiences and business cards. It was a fantastic event!
